Pave IR

What are the main differences between the Pave IR system with the single laser sensor on top of the machine and the Pave IR system attached to the bar at the back of a paver?

    Hi Marcus,
    that's right.
Our field tests on the roadworks has shown a great interest

There are and will be several approaches and advantages for both, the authorities as well as the contractors:
The contractors interested in the system are specialists who are using the system to improve their work on their own and gain advantage on secondary effects, like more homogeneously delivered material by the mixing plant (when the mixing plant knows that a thermal profile system is used). They also start working to look at the screen and based on the temperatures they tell the first roller driver to speed up with low or take time with hot temperatures behind the screed. They can also use the system to adjust the screed heating or material transportation inside the machine which is shown very well by the thermal profile.
Authorities and ministry are interested in the documentation and analyzation of the temperature profile. Depending on the job they will ask for such a system to be used. They will also think about giving a bonus to the contractor or extend the ambient condition specifications. They are asking for an adapted report of the job they can print out and use as an official document.
It is nice to see that the system becomes a tool for all people involved in the road construction. And this is the way we will really improve the quality of a road.

    Hi Alex,
the single scanner sensor is not a laser sensor but a moving IR sensor to scan the full mat profile from top instead of having the huge aluminium mechanic of the bar at the back of the screed.
In addition to the major advantage of the mechanic mounting issues there are several other ones. The scanner itself has intelligent features like edge detection, width measurement, average calculation, etc. and the integrated controller delivers CANopen protocoll data which is supported by the Operand who takes advantage of the additional features. With the scanner configuration of the system we implemented a lot of feedback from our researches and field tests throughout the last years here in Germany and Europe.
