For their latest project, Beton and Monierbau GmbH had to come up with something special to pave a perfectly even road. During the renovation of the roads K15 and K63 close to Twiest and Georgsdorf in Germany, the base was extremely uneven due to a lot of milling holes. Even the very experienced paver operator Thorsten Hanenkamp was sceptical about how these bumps should get leveled out during the paving process. A 6km long and 6,5 wide challenge was ahead of him.

I suggested to use the sensor combination Big Sonic Ski with four sensors. It is known to be the best option for large uneven areas for one particular reason: It eliminates even 4 to 6 m long waves and thus guarantees absolute smoothness over long distances. The smooth surface additionally saves material compared to other sensor solutions.

Beton and Monierbau is experienced with MOBA products for road construction. They usually worked with a Big Sonic Ski with three sensors to achieve even results. However, in complicated cases, I always recommend the four sensor solution.

When browsing through their references, you will quickly notice that Beton and Monierbau GmbH is known for the high quality of their projects. Their work is alike their motto “We live construction”. This is why they chose the option to try test the four sensor Big Sonic Ski for this particular project.

During the paving process Mr. Hanenkamp could already notice how the Big Ski was continuously calculating and subtracting the unevenness and the result was exceeding all expectations. His site managers Ludger Evers and Uwe Kischke were equally convinced when they saw the result. See for yourself:

Thorsten Hanenkamp now states that

“I will only use the 4 sensor Big Ski from now on. I can really recommend this solution for all projects that have a reference for the sensors to scan.”

He won’t ever give it away again.
